We are now less than 1 month from registration opening for our 2023 Texas 4-H Roundup. The Registration Packet will be posted to our website at https://texas4-h.tamu.edu/events/roundup/ later today or tomorrow. However, I wanted to go ahead and share some general information that most everyone has been anxious to learn more about.

REGISTRATION DEADLINES:

May 1, 2023: Deadline to submit volunteer screening application for those who will be serving as a chaperone of youth from their county.

May 1 - May 15, 2023 

1.       Contestant All-Inclusive: $120.00 (access to contests, workshops, Trade Show plus any pre-post Assembly events for the entire week of Roundup, Monday – Thursday) *If also a scholar, you will NOT need to register for a Scholar Day Pass

2.       Contestant Day Pass: $50 (access to contest, workshops, Trade Show and pre-post Assembly events a SINGLE DAY ONLY) *If also a scholar, you will NOT need to register for a Scholar Day Pass unless your scholarship recognition night is not the same as your contest.

3.       Adult Volunteer / AgriLife Extension All-Inclusive: $75 (access to workshops, Trade Show plus any pre-post Assembly events for the entire week of Roundup, Monday – Thursday)

4.       Adult Volunteer / AgriLife Extension Day Pass: $30 (access to workshops, Trade plus any pre-post Assembly events for a SINGLE DAY ONLY

5.       Scholars Day Pass: TBD (access to workshops, Trade Show plus any pre-post Assembly events for a SINGLE DAY ONLY) *Deadline for Scholar Day Pass will be announced once we know when the Scholars will be notified. IF YOU ARE A POTENTIAL SCHOLAR AND COMPETING, YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER BY THE MAY 15TH DEADLINE. 

May 16, 2023 - May 17, 2023: Additional $50 Late Fee

May 18, 2023 – May 19, 2023: Additiona$250 Late Fee

May 20, 2023 - May 31, 2023: Additional $500 Late Fee

NO REGISTRATION ACCEPTED AFTER MAY 31ST

AII contestants, AgriLife Extension Employees and Chaperones must pre-register through 4HOnline!!!! Scholar registration for those not competing TBD.

ALL YOUTH MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. All Chaperone (Volunteer Screening) requirements apply. County offices, you will be responsible for determining what adults will be chaperoning the youth attending from your county. If the youth are attending with their parent/guardian and they will not be responsible for other youth, then volunteer screening is not a requirement of that parent.

EVERYONE attending Texas 4-H Roundup must register (either pre-register or register on-site) and have valid event identification (nametag or wrist band) on at all times. This is a requirement of the event for safety, liability, and insurance purposes. In the event of an emergency. Credentials will be required to attend the evening assembly at Reed Arena.

REMINDERS / CHANGES FOR 2023

Changes in red bold

·         Substitutes must be a 4-H members by March 1, 2023 or compete in another District level contest.

·         All General Assemblies will be held in Reed Arena this year which will serve as our headquarters for the week.

·         Workshops will be held in Reed Arena

·         Trade Show will be held in Reed Arena.

·         1st Place 4-H Talent Showcase acts will perform at the nightly assemblies.

·         Scholarship recipients will be recognized on stage each evening as a collective group by Districts. Each scholar’s name will be announced within their District groups. Certificate recognition and photos will be done through the respective scholarship banquet.

 

We are working on a Frequently Asked Questions to be posted to our event page. If you have any questions, please send them to me as well. They very well could be the same question other are asking.

 

Don’t forget that Monday, June 5th will be our College/Career Fair followed by our Kickoff Keynote Speaker. That evening we will have At-Large Delegate Presentations followed by the 1st ever AGT (Agents Got Talent). We are excited to announce that we will have cash awards for the top 3 District teams in the amount of $1000, $750 and $500 plus additional prizes. So if you have not already done so, get your acts together!!!

 

Each evening Pre-Assembly we are looking at providing an opportunity for Districts to gather in a tailgate environment. More details to come, but we wanted to bring back the opportunity for Districts to have a meeting point and to be able to celebrate each day’s successes before entering Reed Arena for the nightly assemblies! More details about this to be announced soon!
